Delhi Karavan with Sodabottleopenerwala bring to you not only a delish event where a slice of traditional Parsi cuisine would be served on your plate but where you will also learn to cook some quintessential Parsi dishes.
After arriving from Persia centuries ago, they settled into their new home on the west coast. Over time they have beautifully adopted but have kept their intrinsic traditions and food culture alive and untouched.
This event is also an attempt to understand their journey and dig into an authentic experience of Parsi culture with interesting anecdotes.
About the facilitator : Anahita Dhondy.
Born into one of the unique sects in India and around the world, little did she know that her Parsi cultural identity will bring her far enough to become the face and muscle power to one of the most successful restaurants around the country.
At a young age of 27 Anahita Dhondy is Chef Manager at the iconic Irani Cafe and Bar, SodabottleOpenerWala.
Anahita is an IHM and CLB London Graduate, who dreamt to be cruising around the world, cooking modern French cuisine, but in an incredible journey today has become a cultural mascot and a household name in India.
Her recent accolades include The Young Chef award, Times Food award and the Indian of the year title. Anahita also debuted on prime time television on a TV show as a judge in a just concluded food show

SodaBottleOpenerWala, combines the idiosyncracies of a Bombay Irani cafe and bar with typical Parsi cuisine, some Irani specialities and Bombay street food in a fun, quirky and contemporary avatar. The Khan Market outlet has recently been awarded by the Eazydiner Foodie Awards as the ‘Best Regional Indian Restaurant’ for this year.
The menu for the workshop includes :
1. A welcome drink.
2. Demonstration of the following recipes by chef Anahita Dhondy.
Magic Soup, Chicken Farcha (Appetizer), Mutton Dhansak (Main Course), Caramel Custer (Dessert)
3. Interactive session with the chef.
4. Recipe handouts.
5. Partaking of the above mentioned recipes in the warm hospitality of SBOW. (Anything ordered apart from the event menu shall be payable by participant according to price in the menu).
6. Goodie bags for all participants with assorted Parsi biscuits and mawa cake.
It’s a classic ‘paani kum; doodh zyada’, kind of time for everyone to learn and have some fun.
